I'm considering booking a ticket to Reykjavik. It's going to require some crazy logistics on the US end of things so I'm not completely sold yet, but would about 5 days in Iceland be worth the flight?

I think so! Especially if you're good at beating jet lag. I've seen lots of deals for 4-5 day trips in different cities in Europe, so I don't think that trip length is uncommon at all.

I think the logistics are gonna keep me away this time. I know better than to count on good weather in February, which makes both flying and driving to Baltimore potentially difficult. Because my flights would be on separate itineraries, I wouldn't be covered by travel insurance. :/ Also once I went through the whole WOW air process, it ended up being a lot more than the list price. I'm used to the Southwest discount approach more than the Ryanair/Spirit/apparently WOW approach that nickels and dimes you for every little thing afterwords, and doesn't really make it optional.

IcelandAir will be starting service to both Chicago and Minneapolis in March, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to find reasonably-priced flights with better logistics in the future. :)
